DOI: 10.1177/030908929702207603 Samson and Delilah: a Parable of Power?42 Fountside, Oakdale Road, Sheffield S7 1SN, UK This examination of the Samson and Delilah story begins by noting the large number of different interpretations of the narrative, particularly among feminist scholars, and suggesting that this variety reflects ambiguities within the text itself. It goes on to propose that the narrative is primarily about the power relationships between various individuals, nations and deities. This analysis leads to a comparison with New Testament parables.
